Junior Lax Program
Playful lacrosse & movement skills for our youngest players, ages 4-6
Program Overview
TOP Lacrosse Junior Lax is designed for our youngest lacrosse players ages 4 to 6 (2020-2022 birth years) who are discovering the sport for the first time. Led by engaging, certified coaches trained in early childhood development and physical literacy, our program focuses on building fundamental movement skills, hand-eye coordination, and a genuine love for lacrosse. We keep the focus on play and exploration at this age, where fun and confidence take priority over competition.
Sessions are delivered using the Play · Teach · Compete Model, adapted for younger players. Children learn through game-based activities and playful exploration, receive guided coaching on basic skills like stick handling and scooping, and apply what they learn through small-sided games and friendly challenges. This approach builds physical literacy while keeping young players engaged and excited to come back each week.
Physical literacy at this age means developing confidence, competence, and motivation to move. Our program emphasizes balance, coordination, and agility across varied movements, introducing lacrosse skills in a playful, age-appropriate way.
